Day 3

October 2nd. We drove all day through North Dakota. Pretty flat state. Rest stops few and far. Beleive me when I say there is NOTHING to see on this drive.
Only cool thing was an amazing sunset.
Checked into hotel in Glendive MT.

October 3rd - Happy Birthday Saun! We woke and it was snowing outside. The cold air was a slap in the face! Montana is a huge state to get through. Hannah said many times "are we still in Montana?"
Once we got west of Billings the view was just breathtaking. A camera could not justify the vastness. Snow covered mountains and rolling hills. We did see one mule deer and a heard of antelope.

Just north of Butte was a route marker for the Great Continental Divide. Shortly after we passed the marker low fuel sensor went off. No fuel stations in sight for the next 30 miles. We had to turn around and back track 15 miles to Butte. Not a good feeling.

While in route to the border we watched the moon rise.
Hard to explain, but nothing I had seen before.

We crossed the Canada border around 9:30pm. All went well. Thank goodness!
Checked into hotel in Lethbridge AB

Tomorrow we visit my friend MY for brunch in Calgary AB and then stay the evening with my friend Lindsay in Kamloops BC.

Just amazed at the wide open spaces out here compared the compacted cities I am accustomed to.

Traveling on the highways have been a dream. No traffic at all. Set the cruise and roll....

Hannah is traveling very well. Singing songs, snacking, coloring and watching dvd's.

Will upload photos on next post.
